Statehood

The Arizona State

Because of all items that could be obtained here, like mining to find gold and silver (left), Arizona became more popular. Its population increased to 215,000! Arizonans thought it should become a state. The people immediately went to Congress, and after a rough fight, Arizona became the 48th state on February 14, 1912.
Everyone lived a good life, but farmers needed water. The Roosevelt Dam, along with the Coolidge, Barlett, and Hoover Dams, helped solve the problem. This also helped conserve the valuable water. It helped with The Salt River Project (it would stop the flow of water from the Salt River for irrigation). Hunt, the governer, agreed with the new dams. He created new higways and bridges that attracted even more people to the state.
